Retrofit or Repair Before You Replace.

When a full replacement is months out or the original manufacturer has moved on, Litus builds the retrofit in our shop or repairs the equipment you send us.

Two lanes

Update a board that still works, or repair one that doesn’t.

LANE 1

Modernization

Whether a breaker is retrofitted into the existing board or a Litus-built replacement goes into the existing footprint, the fabrication happens in our shop and the installation stays with your electrician: same-brand components, Litus-fabricated bus, the manufacturer’s warranty on the components and ours on the work.

  • A breaker must be replaced or retrofitted
  • Controls need to be modernized
  • Existing bussing needs modification
  • A custom replacement is more practical than a full system swap
LANE 2

Shop Repair & Modification

Equipment ships to our facility, and we arrange the freight if you would rather we did.

  • An obsolete component has failed
  • Drawings are incomplete or missing
  • The manufacturer no longer supports the equipment
  • A replacement no longer fits the original footprint

Shop repair

Litus performs repair and modification work through our manufacturing facility. Equipment can be shipped or coordinated to our facility for evaluation, repair, modification, testing, and documentation.

Delivered example

William D. Evans, a historic San Diego passenger vessel

Reverse-engineered and repaired the automatic transfer system for the main and backup generators on an undocumented panel, produced complete drawings, and returned the vessel to service to Coast Guard approval.

Who warrants a retrofitted board?

Components carry the manufacturer’s warranty. Litus warrants its fabrication, wiring, and assembly. Modifications to an existing listed board are scoped with the inspection outcome in mind; where a field evaluation is needed, we say so on the quote.
