Power and Control Equipment Built for Demanding Marine Applications.

Litus’s experience in Navy and Coast Guard power distribution has built a foundation of discipline around documentation, configuration control, and non-standard power applications.

Navy and Coast Guard documentation discipline, carried into commercial marine work.

Capabilities

Power, controls and modernization for marine and defense equipment.

  • Marine AC and DC electrical assemblies
  • Power distribution units
  • Control panels
  • Equipment modernization
  • Legacy equipment replacement
  • Build-to-print assemblies
  • Documented production
  • FAT and witness testing

DC power distribution

Shipboard and shore-side DC distribution runs on class rules and on MIL and Coast Guard requirements rather than on a UL listing, so the capability is engineering, documentation and witnessed test. Litus engineers DC switchboards and PDUs for vessels, shore power and the storage systems that increasingly sit behind both.

DC power distribution across markets

Litus has experience supporting equipment built for Navy and Coast Guard applications: switchboards and power distribution units, Link 16 power systems, and modernization-program panel work (CSRR, CANES). Classification-society requirements are evaluated project by project.

Delivered example

William D. Evans, a historic San Diego passenger vessel

Reverse-engineered and repaired the automatic transfer system for the main and backup generators on an undocumented panel, produced complete drawings, and returned the vessel to service to Coast Guard approval.
